Pink Roses

A little bit of slow afternoon you can hang on the wall.

Pink Roses is a loose bunch of blush-pink blooms spilling out of a cobalt glass vase, late light slanting through the blinds and striping the wall behind them. A couple of roses have already let go and landed on the warm wooden tabletop. The petals are built up in thick, feathery strokes with flecks of coral and gold where the sun hits, and you can see every bit of that texture up close. Soft pinks against cool blue-gray and honeyed wood — romantic without being precious.
